I visit blogs; I like to read what people are thinking, it's amazing because I would actually prefer to watch a movie than read a book which kinda sucks because the books are generally better than the adaptations, case-in-point The Da Vinci Code. I guess reading blogs is sort of my segue back to reading books since I used to be an avid reader, aeons ago.

Anyway, I travel from blog to blog and I have noticed one recurring theme on unattended blogs - anonymous comments advertising anything from insurance to p**n as if they are vultures or flies waiting for dead carcass.

This must be the law of depreciation that proves that like a house, a car or one's health if left unattended will almost always surely deteriorate.

Dancing with the Stars...

I was going to make this a post about Heather Mills but then I decided I make it about my observations on the show.

I watch it online by the way, thank God for the Internet.

Okay, about Heather Mills, say what you want about her but that woman is a fighter and I love her for that!! Her first dance was erm, okay but that Mambo was spectacular, she will hang around for a while longer but I doubt she will take home the prize because this is America so an American will win this competition; case in point - Paulina PoriskovaI think that's how it's spelled, she is hella elegant, I don't think she was bad actually, definitely not any worse than Leeza Glibbons or Billy Ray Unserious, hee hee but she was the first to get kicked off!

I think Apollo and his Partner are cute as a button, just darling!

Clyde is such a cool cat, but what's with him and that microphone!

Laila Ali is absolutely G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!!!

Joey Fatone is very, very good, I mean, really, really!

Ian Searing is H-O-T!!!!!! Those eyes, that smile, that voice..... I'll tango with him a-n-y-t-i-m-e!!!

Okay, back to Heather, she is an amazing woman who has overcome a lot of adversity, I'm proud of you girl! Brava!!!

As an aside, seeing the dancing, the moves, the lean bodies is an incentive to join a dance class.

Hey, Fred, are you up to some salsa :)

Jimmy Kimmell is a funny ass fool!!!

I am sooooo Blooddddddy Angry!!!!!

This is the highest case of moral reprehensibility, if I ever did see one!

If ever a family of vile, disgusting scum of the earth, guttersnipish, repulsive, revolting, disgusting, disgusting people there was, this is one!!!!

They all deserve to get sent to the worst maximum security prison and have a morbidly obese looking guy dressed like the executioner do to each of them what they did to poor little Christopher Barrios jr, again and again and again for the rest of their worthless lives!!!

I spit on the likes of these!!!!!

Another sick bastard! My God what is wrong with these people?

He likes me, he likes me not.....

So up again, I am, just got done watching Letterman, he had Bernie Mac on the show as a guest and Bernie said something that sort of blew me away because I thought I was the only one who felt that way.

Dave asked him how long he has been married to his wife and Bernie replied, "thirty years", so Dave wanted to know howdhedothat and Bernie said the secret is liking the person, not loving them, he said love was overrated.

It reminded me about an argument I had with my ex years ago, one of a few, where he was trying to convince me that he loved me and I told him that he did not need to convince me that he loved me, I believed that he did love me BUT I knew that he did not LIKE me! He said he thought that the fact he loved me should mean he liked me, OH NO, I said, LOVE and LIKE are absolutely two different issues.

Prime example, take your siblings, perchance, it goes without saying that you love them but and I am sure a lot of you out there can attest to this, a lot of times you cannot stand your brother or sister because some of the things they do just irk the crap out of you. But it's okay because you know you just have to deal with them for the time being, until, if you’re lucky, you get to move far far away.

When you genuinely like a person, you want to talk to that person a lot, listen to their opinions, call them for advice etc. When you like a person you respect them.

You dig them!

When I meet a person, I can instantly tell when said person is attracted to mewhich is really every time heehee. I immediately begin to look for clues that he likes me and is genuinely interested in me, not just waiting for the opportunity to jump my bones! Clear indications of the latter would be, having to repeat conversations because he cannot remember things you talked about just last night or talking on the phone then experiencing a dropped call but he does not call right back. There's more...A lot of times if I don't like a person the day I meet him, it is highly unlikely that a relationship will develop.

Anyway, I believe that love will grow but liking a person should be an instantaneous event! You do not have to like a person to love them, after all, we have already been charged to love everyone as ourselves but liking a person makes it a whole lot easier to love a person and to stay loving that person.

C'est tout!

Your Credit...

Seeing as how we live in the States, unlike Nigeria, this is a credit based society, most everything, your job, purchases etc is based on the ability of having decent credit. Let's face it if your credit sucks, most times, you are SOL!!

I read a few articles today that speak to this fact when regarding home mortgages. Over the past few years lenders have come up with creative ways to approve not so stellar credit owners for loans and now it is coming back to bite them in the tushy.

A few tips to making sure your credit is up to par:
  • In most states, you are entitled to a free credit report from the major credit bureaus, Equifax, TransUnion and Experian. Please take advantage of this offer. Knowing about your credit and paying attention to changes can make or break your chances of making a credit based purchase.
  • Sign up for credit monitoring services, these services offer free credit reports including your credit score, to say the least, for a nominal fee, it is very much worth the expense. Your bank, or credit card company offers these services too e.g Identity Monitor By Citi.
  • Live beneath your means i.e. Just because you can afford a Mercedes-Benz if you work a little extra overtime does not mean you should go out and buy it; put the extra money you will have saved by buying a less expensive but cost effective vehicle in a Savings account or CD(Certificate of Deposit). Also, if you do not need a car do not purchase one, if you must, buy a used, reliable vehicle and pay cash!!! That car loses value the minute it is driven off the lotunless it is an antique.
  • Having no credit is almost the same as having bad credit so definitely get a low interest, low risk credit card that will jumpstart your credit reporting, be religious with the payments. Always pay more than the minimum required.
  • Create a budget.
  • Use Online Billpay.

There's more but those are some immediate ones.

If you already have bad credit, most people prefer to leave it derogatory until the seven years run through but I completely disagree.

  • I suggest contacting your creditors and working out a payment plan. Even though you have stopped paying those bills does not mean they are not consistently accruing interest. By contacting your creditor, you can get them to stop charging that extra interest, work out some payment plan and after paying it off, the creditor can use their discretion in contacting the credit bureaus and reporting it as a positive, instead of leaving the account as a negative.
  • Try to get a secured credit card, those that require you to open a savings account to attach to the credit card; Now, I don't mean go everywhere applying for credit because that is a NO, NO. The more your credit gets pulled the more points get taken off.
  • If you still have open trade lines, please try as much as you can to pay more than the minimum due; if possible try to renegotiate your interest rate.

Regarding your mortgage loan, do not let your mortgage broker force you into taking a loan that puts you too close to your limit and out of your comfort zone, be realistic. Your monthly payments should not be more than 30% of your monthly income. Try as much as you can to put down atleast 20% of the Sales price, if you can.

Do not mistake their zeal for compassion, they want that commission, they will come up with creative means of qualifying you but you know your pocket.

Before you contact your Real Estate Agent, you should have already talked to your Mortgage Banker and been pre-qualified and pre-approved with your interest rate locked in, there should be no surprises.

We all want that piece of the American Dream but if you educate yourself and prepare yourself, you can protect yourself from a Bloody nightmare......savvy!

Akpiri Ogologo...

As much as I detest reading or writing anything negative about Nigeria, I mean, there's enough being put out there by other Nigerians and foreigners, they don't need me to join the bandwagon; plus, I am of the persuasion that saying encouraging things to or about anyone can yield better and positive results than the reverse.

I came across this article on Yahoo! about Alami's trial and how he boldly boasts about his wealth and why he should not feel bad about having it and I can't help but feel pain for my people. When will these leaders understand that being the leader of a great nation does not warrant a means to amass wealth?

Granted life becomes a little cushier, a bigger house, bodyguards, private jet invitations to foreign countries etc but there is absolutely no reason that one should become a multi-millionaire while in office if one wasn’t before ascending the seat.

As president, governor etc, you are a public servant, you serve the people, you should eat, sleep and drink progress for the people. You should be selfless and tireless in providing the very best for your people.

It is so heart-wrenching to hear these stories and know that the culprit is not in the least bit remorseful.

So sad!

Well, the upside to the story is that a lot of work is being done to cleanse Nigeria of charlatans such as this, I hope!

300 revisited

Okay, now that I am done wiping the drool from my face.

I just wanted to mention a scene in the movie that I really loved. I know that the story is not completely based on historical facts but I was thoroughly impressed by the way Leonidas always conferred with his wife. I love the way he protected her honour when the Lagbaja-looking messenger insulted her.

Conversely, I do feel that there was a little bit of a contradiction when Queen Gorgo went to speak to the council, all the hoops she had to jump through just to speak to a council of men. If they really revered their women why was it such a task for a whole Queen to speak to them.

Anyway, I am moving Gerard Butler to my top eight for that ultra-sexy accent and the rock hard abs he provided me with in the movie! Yes, I am back to drooling, hee hee!

Correct some misconceptions....

DO NOT assume you know me from a few comments I have left on other blogs.
DO NOT assume I never graduated from University because I am a Real Estate Agent.
AND DEFINITELY, DO NOT assume that I will die if I do not get married.

I mentioned earlier this year that I was thinking I am ready to settle down but marriage is a quandary sometimes I want to be married but most times, I look up to Heaven and I thank God for my single life. I would absolutely cherish a family if that's what the future holds for me but it will not be at the expense of my happiness. Please do not get it twisted.

This blog is not for your entertainment, it is a medium for me to sometimes relent and most times release. I welcome other views, yes but most especially this blog is for me, so if you think it is DRY, do yourself a favour and don't come back!

It is amazing how people want to burn you at the stake because you share a different view from them, thank goodness for the internet! Start your own blog to preach whatever propaganda you want, effect some change by starting your own movement, don't jump on someone else's bandwagon because the blog is comment enabled.

You bloody ninny!!

Movie Reviews........300.....

Yes! I went and spent time at IMAX to see 300.

Oh my goodness, thank goodness for the never-ending supply of hard bodies, I was so not disappointed! Freddie my dear, I hope it was as good for you as it was for me :)

Aside from the zero body fat ripped bodies, the cinematography was absolutely spectacular, it kinda reminded me of Gladiator.

I'll see it again!

Now that I have your attention....

......I walked into one of those leave it alone topics but did not leave it alone.

Anyway, for BISI D, who is also Piranha's second Goat-wife I mentioned on another blog while on my blogtrotting excursion, aspiring for love has nothing remotely to do with an obsession for Sex. I think you are the one who is obsessed with sex if everything you read on my blog looked like sex to you! And while we are at it, just what am I supposed to be jealous of?

You obviously have a penchant for quick thoughtless retorts, if you did not notice that I said the bill was a little out there. A bill should be passed, may or may not be that one but one should be passed nonetheless!

Law makers, make the laws and if you do not like it, see what you can do to change it or get the hell out of dodge, stop freaking deafening me!!!

You have absolutely nothing for me to be jealous of, for so many reasons, the first and most glaringly logical one is that I do not know you! Secondly, from all indications, judging from your vehemently angry tone and the fact that you mentioned it in your ramble: you are suffering, so I definitely do not envy you one doggone bit! MUMU!!!

Wow! People just don't get it! My opinion has caused this person I know nothing about to rain all kinds of insults on me just because I have a difference of opinion. I spoke and now she HATES me but she does not know me.

You are fighting the wrong battle, my dear, you should be fighting for those basic necessities that people in Nigeria cannot afford, water, electricity, petrol, bring that to the forefront instead of waisting time on a person's CHOICE of lifestyle.

If you noticed the original article was from the New York Times, the USA where they have the luxury to worry about these kind of issues, you better concern yourself with why people are dying of seemingly curable diseases and malnutrition.

C'est tout!

See blog article here.

Okay, so it's no big secret that I trawl through the www to enter the inner workings of the many bright or twisted minds out there.

I have always been a psychologist of sorts. I like to think I know what makes people tick, you know, like Sylar on
Heroes but in a good way. My friends confide in me, people talk to me and find themselves opening up and telling me things they have never told anyone. I also love to solve issues, I am a solver; I want everybody to love and be loved. I don't like seeing people unhappy, I especially do not like forced friendships.

Excellent judge of character and I am always searching for the good in people. Everybody starts off on a clean slate with me. Everybody is an angel until I am shown otherwise. So I have friends who are completely different and bring different strengths that I tap from, you know, like Peter Petrelli again on
Heroes, I'm sure you are noticing a trend here. Yes, you got it, I am a Hero. I believe I was put on this earth to do something great, meaningful, to effect positive change in people's lives, exactly like Peter Petrelli.

Sometimes, I wish I could call on my power of flight and find my way to one of these bloggers windows, jump right in and give them a good shaking, telling them to get a f******* grip.

Crazy much?

Being a real estate agent can be the most frustrating thing.

Why? Because human beings are nutters!!!!

The average individual out there has no respect for REA's. People do not understand the way Real Estate commerce works, they do not understand how REA's work and earn an income. They also don't care.

Of course, the average human being can purchase their own home without an agent, but would you handle a $100,000 lawsuit without an attorney? I don't think so!

Aside from not having any idea as to what a REA's job entails, they are absolutely clueless about what they need to have or where they need to be to purchase a home but it is always those ones who are the know-it-alls.

I also cannot stand liars. Don't come to me and ask me to find you a home when you have no intentions of buying a home, you waste my time, I find you the perfect place, turn in a contract and two days before closing you tell me, "I think I am going to have to pass." You bloody fool!!!

Wow!!! That felt good!
